Laura’s grandpa started Gifford’s Flower Shop in 1938 in downtown Portland, just a few blocks from my studio! Her dad put up their gorgeous hop altar arrangement that was full of beautiful local blooms. They also used plenty of moss and ferns for that authentic NW feel.
Today only! Rosemary Stafford Floral Design will have a pop up shop at the River Pig Saloon. She’ll be “Offering a bounty of bouquets” so you can stop by for a tasty Valentine’s Day drink and pick up something special for your honey!
Lora’s floral crown was stunning of course, but even more impressive was the beautiful floral necklace she made for our handsome white stallion! The shoot started taking on a princess bride feeling which we loved! But I also loved working with Amy because with her nose ring and asymmetrical hair, we still kept the style very Portland!
Well, we can’t spend an hour on our hair and makeup every day… but maybe every now and then its a good reminder that you don’t have to be a movie star to feel like one!
I hadn’t photographed a traditional Indian ceremony before, so I wasn’t always sure what was going on, but I photographed it all and it was a lot of fun! Hindu ceremonies are much more active than American wedding ceremonies. Since many of the guests were not Hindu, the priest took time to explain most of what was going on so the traditions would have meaning for everyone.
I wanted to bring out a little bit of the glamour and lights that we’ve got going on downtown on Broadway. We started around the Park blocks and through the theater and art museum.
