I knew after Meuy and Nai’s engagement session that their wedding would be gorgeous and fun to photograph. They have a wonderful eye for style and love to ham it up for the camera. That’s always a good combination for a wedding photographer like myself.
Meuy and Nai stayed at the Westin Hotel in downtown Portland – it has a wonderful modern ambiance and maybe an art deco feel? There’s nothing like a Portland high rise to make you feel special on your wedding day. 🙂 I was loving the city view.
And then, talk about an epic wedding. If you want to have a stunning, high class wedding, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better location than the Portland Art Museum. I mean seriously, it was a gorgeous wedding day! The Corinthian pillars, marble statues and grand archways definitely let you know that you’re not just at a wedding, you’re at a wedding in the Portland Art Museum. And of course, Zest Floral and Event Design really stepped it up with all of the stylized glitz and glam!
Their ceremony and reception took place in the Fred & Suzanne Fields Ballroom. They had a fairly small wedding, so they were able to put up drapery to split the room in half and keep the party intimate. But we also got to sneak into the Kridel Grand Ballroom for some bride and groom portraits on stage. Those were definitely some of my favorites.
Thank you so much Meuy and Nai for choosing me to document your beautiful Portland wedding – I enjoyed every minute. (I even stayed late, because who can leave when they start dancing Gangnam style?)
p.s. Thank you to my wonderful assistant Kim O’Neil for making my job so much more fun! Oh yah, and of course, thank you to Jose for providing the sweet smooth songs that we all swooned over! And we can’t forget Helen Bernhard Bakery for the best tasting wedding cake ever!
