Their wedding day started out on a crisp sunny day in January. Cate was more concerned with making sure all of her bridesmaids were comfortable and feeling beautiful than I think she was with herself. (Two of them were pregnant so that may have been a factor!) After their first look in front of the Cultural Center, we all headed over to Hoover Park (named after Herbert Hoover, he’s kind of a big deal in Newberg). We just caught the last rays of sun before their ceremony.
They had a beautiful Catholic wedding and then a blowout wedding reception in Kelsi’s parent’s backyard. I love backyard weddings because they’re so much more personal and everyone is a little more free to be themselves. They had a “classy country” theme that I think they struck perfectly. Also, check out the treehouse where they spent their first night together. I really need to get one of those!
It was a perfect backdrop for all of their gorgeous details. I loved Brittany’s wedding dress blowing in the wind, the guys with their cocktails on the balcony, and of course their first look on the gangway.
After the ceremony they canoed across the lake to their reception full of family, food, hilarious toasts and fire dancing! I feel so lucky to be able to hang out with awesome brides and grooms on one of the most special days of their life!
But the best part would have to be the dance floor. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much dancing fury as I saw that night. There were dirty dancing reenactments, giant wigs, a flying groom… entertainment for all!
By the way, are you seeing this wedding venue? I think Belle Gardens is one of the reasons we have Pinterest. This is like the original Pinterest wedding venue – back when you had to cut photos out of magazines for inspiration! This Victorian wedding venue is run by a husband and wife who live on site. They absolutely love what they do and put their whole hearts into every wedding! They are also very dedicated to creating little photo op vignettes all around the property! There’s no possible way to even photograph it all in one day!
