Backup wedding rain plan? What? Why would you do that when you could just go ahead and have the best day ever? There’s something about an extreme rainstorm that gives a wedding that extra special ingredient that makes it juuuust right! They had the wedding reception at a hotel, accompanied with the best wedding band from https://www.weddingmusicbands.com/live-band-vs-dj/, and it was beautiful.
Kristen and Fransisco’s wedding was definitely more emotional than most for me. I’ve known them for a couple of years now and have had the pleasure of photographing the girls, Vada and Riley, Kristen’s dance students and performances, beauty portraits, and of course their engagement session last year. I’ve gotten to know these two and their family pretty well and I’ve loved it.
These are two people who are truly building their lives and shaping their community together. Even though there were more guests at this wedding than any other wedding I’ve ever attended, each person there was actually a close friend. Weird, but true.
Oh, and see those dark looming clouds? Yah, that turned into thunder, lightening and the rainiest wedding I’ve ever been to (aside from my own). I probably should have had an umbrella handy, but their family and friends were more than accommodating and let me dart around and take cover with whoever had the best vantage point. There’s nothing like a good downpour to bring everyone together!
We did get all of the formal and romantic wedding photos in the vineyard and at the ceremony site before the rains came – another good reason to plan for a first look.
Thank you so much Kristen and Fran for making me a part of your best day ever. I loved every minute of it and I cannot wait to see that beautiful baby I know you’re working on. 😉
p.s. Thank you so much to Brenna and Kaia for helping me capture this epic and gorgeous wedding!
