This beautiful bride to be contacted me to help her make a very special gift for her groom. She warned me that she had done a boudoir photoshoot before and had only liked one image from the whole shoot! So of course I was a little nervous… But once we got started I knew we’d get some good ones. 🙂
With the help of my intern Kaia, I wanted to show you a little bit of behind the scenes action. While Julie Oliveros did her fabulous makeover, we talked about the outfits together and so I could decide how to arrange the furniture and what backdrops would look best in which outfits. Here is just a peak into some of my favorites and a few snapshots to show you how it was done!
For our winter evening engagement shoot, we met at my downtown studio about an hour before sunset – Amanda and Michael drank hot chocolate out of home made mugs and snuggled, laughed and made crinkle noses at each other. (Well, Amanda made crinkle noses, I’m not sure if Michael can really do it)
Then we took a little stroll outside so we could freeze our faces off for a bit. Yes, it was a brisk 32 degrees that night! We walked around the PSU campus and then downtown to all the pretty lit trees! There is nothing like white Christmas lights at night for awesome background bokeh!
We had a cozy orange sunset, amazing old trees everywhere, stunning view of the mountains and an unbelievably huge harvest moon! I’m not that good. I didn’t know we’d be able to see all of the mountains and I definitely did not plan for the harvest moon. It just meant that Jacob and Anna had to put up with me for an extra few minutes while I found the perfect angle to get a romantic last shot of the evening. Thank you so much Anna and Jacob – I can’t wait for your wedding at the Newell House in Champoeg!
Wow, Erika and Marty certainly had a vision when they began their wedding planning. And I absolutely loved every bit of their gorgeous ceremony at Madeleine Parish and wedding reception at YU Contemporary. Their wedding theme was classic black and white stripes with pops of bright green and white floral. All of the floral was designed to perfection by Geranium Lake Flowers.
