Historic Deepwood Estate Wedding
Andrea and Joshua had an intimate wedding ceremony with just their closest family and friends. It was beautiful and perfect. If I could photograph laid back, personal weddings like this every day, I’d be one happy photographer! It was the kind of wedding where you really feel something special.
I’m so, so happy I had the opportunity to be their official “international wedding photographer.” And even better, Jeff came with and excellently assisted me with lighting and equipment. The groom, David is a friend of ours from college. So when I found out he was getting married in Vietnam, I pretty much forced him to hire me.
We traveled together to Hug Point to do a little hiking and enjoy the stunning sunset. The Oregon coast can be somewhat of an enigma – at least to me.
This was a beautiful wedding, but more importantly everyone had a AMAZING time – including the bride and groom! From the moment I met these two, Amanda and John have been nothing but unapologetically themselves. They didn’t have to worry about what anyone else thought of them because they surround themselves with people who know them and love them. I was so delighted to get to photograph this special and gorgeous wedding!
It was a perfect sunny spring afternoon. Since I knew Andrea and Joshua have a vintage aesthetic, I shot with both film and digital for their photoshoot. I love the tangibility of film, I wish it was a little bit more practical for me to use all the time!
But the best part would have to be the dance floor. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much dancing fury as I saw that night. There were dirty dancing reenactments, giant wigs, a flying groom… entertainment for all!
