Um, wow. This gorgeous woman was so much fun getting to know and photograph boudoir. She came to me wanting to make a special gift for her husband’s birthday. So she kept the whole thing a secret (some husbands are easier to trick than others). We planned out all of her outfits and she showed up a little bit nervous, but totally ready to go!
Seriously, like half of the photoshoot is just me getting to hear all about women’s lives as they get pampered in the makeup chair by one of my wonderful makeup artists. In this case, Bri Ellis of Portland Makeup & Hair was responsible for this stunning makeover.
With the help of my intern Kaia, I wanted to show you a little bit of behind the scenes action. While Julie Oliveros did her fabulous makeover, we talked about the outfits together and so I could decide how to arrange the furniture and what backdrops would look best in which outfits. Here is just a peak into some of my favorites and a few snapshots to show you how it was done!
I love how much variety we got into just an hour long photoshoot in my studio! We got some beautiful bridal portraits with her blusher veil – I love that she wasn’t all in white for those shots and kind of incorporated in some of her wedding colors. She also brought in a scandalous romance novel that her fiance has customized for her. (The names/nicknames and locations can be customized so you have a romance novel just for you!) And of course we had to go with a strong red lip to match her romantic red lingerie!
I recently got to do boudoir photos for this gorgeous woman and new friend. She has recently gotten into really great shape and dropped from a size 18 to an 8! Its so inspiring to see someone who can just take control and change their life for the better.
Its not about getting down to your bra and undies for the camera. I don’t care how much you wear (or don’t wear). I just want each woman to feel confident and see for herself how beautiful she is.
