Wow, so this image was awarded one of the “Best of the Best Engagement Photos” by Junebug weddings today! I feel so incredibly honored. Junebug has been my favorite wedding inspiration blog since I found it three years ago. They aren’t just another over the top wedding details eye candy blog. Instead, they consistently show amazing photography from all over the world. Their focus is on emotional moments, artistic lighting and creative composition.

Do you like how I threw “ADVENTURE” into the title in all caps? That’s because it was.
Amanda and Bob drove in from Yakima for our “destination engagement shoot” in Government Camp. I know its only an hour away from Portland, but it felt like we traveled to some other land of snow and sun and wonderment. Also, it might look like I’m running a little behind with my blogging, but in fact, this snowy engagement session happened just two weeks ago! Despite being pretty much completely unprepared for a foot of snow, we had a pretty darn good time romping around and enjoying the on and off flurries of snow, clouds and sun. But I’ll quit talking now and just let you get to the good stuff…
For Kasie and Marc’s engagement, we strolled around Mt. Tabor Park. Its a special place they really enjoy together. I asked Marc how long they had been dating. (I like to be nosy) He said they’ve been together for less than a year, “But when you know, you know!” Yes! I definitely agree. I’m a really big advocate for tying the knot as soon as you both know you’ve found the right one. (after you know, you plan the wedding and stuff)
Engagement sessions in the spring are just so appropriate, don’t you think? Everything is fresh and new and green and beautiful… I mean, its kind of like the perfect metaphor for this time in a relationship. Its definitely perfect for these two lovebirds. Chelsea and Sean just really couldn’t be any more adorable if they tried. I had so much fun getting to know them and see how much chemistry they have together.
I shared a beautiful sunny afternoon with Luke and Sheila for their engagement session. We started at Jenkin’s Estate with a wine picnic (I don’t know if that’s a thing, but there was wine and a blanket so I’m calling it a wine picnic). Luke is a dance instructor and Sheila is a happy woman with gorgeous curls so you can imagine how tough that made my job! Luke had her twirling, dipping and up in the air. Meanwhile, Sheila had him blowing glitter and enduring red smooches all over his face.
